Venue: Bratton Down, Bratton Fleming (9m NE of Barnstaple on A399, 11m N of South Molton - EX31 4SG) .
PLEASE NOTE:
A COMBINATION MAY ONLY MAKE ONE ENTRY ON ANY ONE WEEKEND.
Should sufficient entries be received one race may divide.
Ponies may NOT be led to the start.
Bratton Down is a left-handed course, with a testing climb at the end after the bend.
New riders will earn a Devon & Cornwall Area coat on their completion of their THIRD ride in the Area.
Both these races form part of the "West Country Riders Point Championship" which is open to all riders riding at fixtures in both the Wessex and Devon & Cornwall Areas. The Prizes have been sponsored by Equine Products UK Ltd.
Points will be allocated as follows: 1st:10, 2nd:7, 3rd: 5, 4th: 3.
A £20 voucher for the Best Turned Out in each race will also be provided not the day at each fixture.
The Area Awards are open to those residing in the Devon & Cornwall Area. Points Trophies. Points will be taken from the best eight results. The Synderborough Farm “Rising Stars” Trophy will go to the pony / rider combination who accumulates the highest number of points throughout the season.
The “Allerton Organics Shield” will go to the combination with the highest points throughout the season in the opposite height category to the above.
The “Greatrex” Trophies will be presented to the 2nd & 3rd highest point scoring combinations throughout the season.
The “Alan Walter Horse Transport” Trophy will be awarded to the rider who has shown the most promise throughout the season (i.e. the rider who is deemed to have improved the most and also been the most helpful on racedays).
With regard to balloting please note:
Should a ballot be required (if more than 10 entries are received), priority with be given to, in the following order:
1) First time Riders.
2) Those riders who have had the least number of runs
3) Those closest to the venue as per their PRA membership registered post code.
