RACE 1: 148cms & under NOVICE RIDERS RACE


For qualified Riders who at the start of the season haven’t WON an OPEN Point-to-Point or an OPEN Pony Club Race, a “NOVICE RIDER” (Point-to-Point) race nor an INTERMEDIATE Race and who have never taken part in the Racecourse series. For qualified Ponies which haven’t WON or been placed second in any OPEN Point-to-Point, OPEN Pony Club or OPEN Racecourse race since 1st January 2024. Combinations must have qualified as per the PRA Regulations.

PLEASE BE REMINDED YOU MAY ONLY ENTER ONE FIXTURE ON ANY ONE WEEKEND. 

THOSE WITH ONE RIDE WILL TAKE PRIORITY OVER THOSE WITH TWO RIDES SHOULD A RACE BE OVERSUBSCRIBED.




LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Combinations MUST be Registered & Approved by 12 noon on Friday, 17th April in order to be eligible to enter.


With regard to BALLOTING, should a race be oversubscribed and not be divided, please refer to page 17 of the 2026 Regulations for Pony Races.


Ponies may not be led to the start. A hunt escort will be provided.


A prize will be given to the highest placed 128cms & under combination in the first race.


Prizes will be given to best placed Novice combination in both races.


There will also be a special prize awarded to the most improved Novice Rider at the end of the season, kindly sponsored by Keely Harrison.


A Novice Rider is someone who has NOT won ANY pony race before the start of the 2026 Point-to-Point Pony racing Season.


The South East Riders Championship will be awarded to the rider who accumulates the most points during the season at the South East Area PtP. There will also be a special prize awarded to the most improved Novice Rider, kindly sponsored by Keely Harrison.


Pony Racing Fixtures. Points will be allocated as follows: 1st: 6 2nd: 4 3rd: 2 4th: 1.


The fixtures being: Crawley & Horsham (28/3), Old Surrey, Burstow & West Kent (12/4), Chiddingfold, Leconfield & Cowdray (25/4) and the Mid Surrey Farmers Draghounds (2/5).
