Neither race will divide.
Ponies may not be led to the start. A hunt escort will be provided.
Flete Park runs right-handed (same direction as point-to-point course) with the 138 starts beside the open ditch and the 148 start at the 4m PtP start. The course is undulating, with downhill section and uphill before finish. Great atmosphere, huge crowds, fantastic parkland venue.
Visitors from other areas will be made very welcome, stabling available nearby if needed. Newcomers encouraged.
New riders will earn a Devon & Cornwall Area coat on their completion of their THIRD ride in the Area. The Area Awards are open to those residing in the Devon & Cornwall Area. Points Trophies. Points will be taken from the best eight results.
The Synderborough Farm “Rising Stars” Trophy will go to the pony / rider combination who accumulates the highest number of points throughout the season.
The “Allerton Organics Shield” will go to the combination with the highest points throughout the season in the opposite height category to the above.
The “Greatrex” Trophies will be presented to the 2nd & 3rd highest point scoring combinations throughout the season.
The "Alan Walter Horse Transport” Trophy will be awarded to the rider who has shown the most promise throughout the season (i.e. the rider who is deemed to have improved the most and also been the most helpful on racedays).
The above races form part of the “West Country Riders Championship”. This is open to all riders riding at fixtures in both the Wessex and Devon & Cornwall Areas. The Championship has kindly been sponsored by Paul Nicholls Racing.
Points will be allocated as follows: 1st: 10 2nd: 7 3rd: 5 4th: 3
The presentations will be made at the Torrington Farmers Fixture on Saturday, 10th June, where DOUBLE POINTS WILL BE ON OFFER.
With regard to balloting, should a ballot be required, priority with be given in the following order:
1) First time Riders.
2) Those riders who have had the least number of runs
3) Those closest to the venue as per their PRA membership registered post code.
up to a maximum of 10 entries with three reserves being advertised following the deadline.
PLEASE NOTE: COMBINATIONS CAN ONLY BE ENTERED IN ONE RACE ON ANY ONE WEEKEND
FOR THOSE WITH MORE THAN ONE PONY, IF MAKING ENTRIES FOR MORE THAN ONE RACE AT A FIXTURE, YOU MUST STATE YOUR PREFERRED RACE. SHOULD THE RACES BE OVER SUBSCRIBED YOU WILL ONLY BE PERMITTED TO RIDE IN ONE RACE ON THE DAY.
